Zambia

Zambia is a large, peaceful country in Southeast Africa. A great portion of its population of about 20 million live in poverty.

ICCM supports a compassionate ministry of the Kamatipa Church in the city of Kitwe, under the loving leadership of Maureen Lumpyani. These brothers and sisters reach out to needy people, especially women and children, in the surrounding community. Through initiatives of sewing, crafts, and other income-generation strategies, women are empowered to take better care of their families. A daily feeding program for slum children, and introduction of home gardens and poultry, help address the needs for food security and better nutrition. Literature distribution and teaching the Word of God among project participants encourages their Christian walk.
