August 19 Prayer & Praise

Continue to pray for the ongoing situation with COVID-19. Pray for the programs that are being affected or threatened by the locust infestation that seems to be spreading around the world. Our projects affected are primarily Ethiopia, South Sudan, Pakistan & Central America. Pray against this infestation and declare the verses in Joel 2:23 – “Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.”

Zambia. Pray for Maureen as she was in hospital with malaria and was told she had COVID-19. We have been praying continuously for her to be healed and to recover from malaria. Continue to pray for her son who is in counselling for 3 months. The rehab center wants him to stay there so they can help them. Pray that God will heal & deliver him completely from alcoholism.

Ethiopia. Our program is undergoing some major changes due to the drop in financial contributions. Please pray that the Ethiopia team will be able to adjust to the new changes; and that they will adapt the program to make it even more effective than before. Pray that God will provide the resources we need to keep this program going.

Japan. Gypsi & Jesse report – “God is doing many things, for which we are very thankful. Pray for the meeting with the Ito family on August 20 to talk about any questions they have from the Alpha Course. In particular, the husband and eldest son have been very interested in getting to know more about what the Bible says about God. Pray for wisdom, that God would give us His words and His heart; and that He will continue to open and soften their hearts to receive the Gospel.”

South Sudan. Pray that the South Sudanese pastor we have been working with in Calgary will have an opportunity to be part of the peacekeeping delegation in Juba. Pray that this initiative will be successful and will bring eternal rewards. Pray that a lasting peace will come to this troubled land, and people will be able to live in peace and prosperity.

Philippines. Continue to pray for Rosemarie, as she and her team work hard to complete the housing project. The people of the Philippines are experiencing considerable suffering due to COVID-19. Many have lost their jobs and are unable to provide for their families. This is creating undue hardship for so many people. Pray for an end to the negative impact of this virus; and pray that the country will be able to get back to normal and people will be able to get their jobs back.

Pakistan. We know that the people are suffering due to COVID-19 restrictions. Many people, especially Christians, are not able to find work – and these families are often left off the list when government agencies are providing food for the people. Declare 2 Chronicles 7:14 upon the nation of Pakistan – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Canada Main Office (ICCM). Pray for Mel Middleton and Hayfaa Nicholson as they take over a lot of responsibilities while Janet Hicks continues to recover from her post-concussion syndrome. Also, COVID-19 has impacted how we operate, and has impacted our financial support. Join us in praying for guidance and wisdom from God, as well for financial breakthroughs.

USA Main Office (CCM). The office in the USA is experiencing the same pressures. As you know from the news, there is much unrest and trouble in the country.

Praise God! We are so thankful that Jesus has provided for and protected our team leaders and project beneficiaries. We thank God for providing for all of us during this pandemic, and for helping all our staff to stay connected and to get things accomplished.

We give thanks and glory to God that the house construction in the Philippines for the family who are currently living in a shack is moving ahead very well. Praise God, we were able to send emergency assistance to the Philippines for Gina, Rosemarie and the children.

Praise Jesus, we were able to send money without any problems to Tanzania, South Sudan & Ethiopia.

Glory to Jesus, because Maureen in Zambia reported she is recovering very well now, and has gained strength. Praise God that her son is improving and is going for counselling.

From our Japan Leaders Gypsi & Jesse Town: We praise God for bringing triumph in tragedy, and for how He is working in lives despite the attacks from the evil one. We invite you to read our recent encouraging report here.

We thank God for healing, provision & safekeeping of our student & her family in Germany.

We give the Lord Jesus praise and honor for the answers to our prayers, for meeting our needs, and for meeting many of our wants too.

Thank you for not forgetting us as well, and for being a part of our prayer team. We pray that you are all experiencing God’s peace, protection & provision through this difficult time.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear.”
(Psalms 46:1-2)
